Post menopause straw hair! Help!!

My beautiful long blonde hair used to be my pride and joy. Today in church my DH turned to me and kindly suggested I shave it all off and get a wig and "start all over"! After years of coloring it,straightening it, blow drying it etc....it is straw like. Should I cut it off...stop coloring...and start over. Or is ere a miracle product? My hair looks old and dry and lifeless. help!
