Pimple crisis

I am 44 and have dry combination skin and I am not one to get pimples/spots, etc. However with less than 2 weeks before my huge trip back home to England to see all my family I can feel a huge spot developing on my chin. I can feel a hard bump but there isn't a head or anything. What to do? Advice needed on best way to avoid a huge chin eruption. So far I swiped it with an alcohol wipe and put on antibiotic cream (all I have to hand at work).
