I agree its to show off the jewelry.  And it looks to me as though the photo might indicate he's in the midst of just brushing his hair back a bit with his hand.  Not so unnatural.

He's got a jewelry line now.  Those rings and bracelets are part of his line.  He's posed that way to show them off.

His retinol fusion PM is awesome.  The Paula's choice one makes me peel terribly.  PTR is the best other than retin A.  I alternate!

His new look is great and I bet he's enjoying it. I do love his products and use them often. But I confess, I sorta miss his former, slightly nerdy style, which was a little more low key and informative.
