Is it this ad? I don't think he looks bad in this ad at all. He looks a bit like Tom Ford in his print ads.

No, that's not the same photo used in the one I saw!  He is in a v neck white t-shirt, not tight, but form fitting.  No jacket on and a completely different pose, hair a bit different, left hand tucked into pocket of jeans.  Why???

I find that strange, that they would use a different photo in the same ad.  Usually you get a very pretty WOMAN showing us how great she looks (supposedly from using the product).  I guess they are trying a different approach!

He seems proud of his weight loss. He seems to have re-invented himself. Interesting and his skincare isn't bad either.

His family was in the jewelry business. His designs are lovely.

This spiteful, malevolent attack prompted me to reexamine my skincare arsenal, focusing on the merits of the products rather than the ad campaign.  Peter Thomas Roth products are, with very rare exceptions, top of the line, unparalleled in content and efficacy.  His do not depend on "drama", " working with plastic surgeons" on the payroll, ancient recipes or newly developed super"molecules"as  many of the popular lines on Q do.   And who better to represent the line than the developer himself? Another airhead supermodel? He hasn't sold out to L'Oreal or Coty or unknown LLC as have almost all of his competitors has he?

The intent of this thread was to disparage, the effect, however,  is to prompt unbiased evaluation of skincare expenditures and to fortify resolve-  All 5 star PTR essentials-  Cleansers, masques, antioxidants, retinol, hydrators/moisturizers-  back on AutoDelivery for me!

Thanks Ladies.

I've tried many of his products in the past and his products never impressed me and some actually irritated my skin and dried it out. So, for me, his products are not  top of the line and unparallel. It may be to you but not to everyone. There is not a single company out there where one can proclaim it unparallel since we are all different and not everyone works for everyone.

And yes, he has his silly shticks, like digging for the "rare" Iris moor mud, lol. so silly and yes, full of drama. They ALL have their shticks.

Also, although he may not have sold out to larger parent companies, he did go back to animal testing in order to sell to China so he is still all about the $$$, if that is what you were implying about not selling out to large conglomerates. He used to be cruelty free but no longer. And perhaps there is a reason he hasn't sold out yet. Perhaps there have been no offers to do so or he is holding out for better offers. Who knows.

I had no idea he was not cruelty free.  I will not knowingly buy from these brands any longer.

I didn't know that he'd lost weight recently -- never knew he was heavy in the first place.  I have liked his products in the past when I bought a "try-me" from here.

Seems like a marketing decision to get men to try his skincare.

He gives himself a great deal more credit that I do... He's not hot... He's certainly not appealing enough to be an endorsement for his (or any) line...

@tansy...Google his name and weight loss. He also seems to have had cosmetic surgery. He looks very different and he has a different nose now.

Re: Peter Thomas Roth magazine ad

If anyone has an earnest interest in PTR products they need only look to tthe numerous 5/5 star Beautypedia  reviews, beauty magazine editors' ratings, consumer reviews, awards won for content and innovation, and sales.   He is respected for the quality of active ingredients used and their percentages .  No snake oil!  No Estee, L'Oreal, Coty......., just a man and the empire he built because he needed to solve his own skin care dilemmas, then decided to share.

I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing and reordering a whole compliment of PTR products today.
