Re: Peter Thomas Roth - Too much plastic surgery??

At first, I thought it was Josh Groban!  Doesn't even look remotely like he used too. I would have a hard time buying anything of his now - I think he needs to walk the walk and talk the talk.

Re: Peter Thomas Roth - Too much plastic surgery??

I think he looks handsome. As far as skincare is concerned, I don't look for it to sculpt or dramatically lift and tighten. To me skincare is all about having clear, smooth, radiant skin. I've achieved this with retin-a along with other skincare products and staying out of the sun, eating well and maintaining a reasonable weight. I'm 51 and a little sagging here and there but that's just life. I believe in aging gracefully and not trying to fight it with procedures. Not knocking anyone who does, it just not my thing.

I just think it's odd that he doesn't own it, ESPECIALLY when the hostess has mentioned how great he looks. He's in the business of skincare, beauty, and looking better, so why wouldn't he cop to the work he's had done like Joan rivers used to. nothing wrong w getting any kind of work done, but it seems kind of odd if he's selling things to make people look better, yet HE doesn't rely solely upon his own products to make him look better.

Actually, after plastic surgery, good skin care is vital.

Exactly! Which is why most plastic surgeons actually sell skincare products.  So surprised that so many on the boards confuse the to and think procedures and skincare are mutually exclusive.  They are not!

Hello!  Another new poster implying that PTR has had plastic surgery.  Perhaps another "well-trained eye" who can spot it through the TV screen?

I've watched more than one presentation now and even paused it, when he's shown in close-up.  Nope, not a trace of an eye-lift or nose bob to this "well-trained eye".  As another poster said in an earlier post, if he has had plastic surgery, he wants to get his money back!

As to buying his products now...did you ever?  (Probably not.)

And what's this "walk" he's supposed to walk and "talk" he's supposed to talk.  Enlighten us all, please, since you seem to know something we don't.  (Or are you referring to the diet he went on?)

(ETA:  I do agree with you though, that there's a touch of Josh Groban about his looks since he lost 40 pounds and added the facial hair.)

Re: Peter Thomas Roth - Too much plastic surgery??

I usually don't watch live QVC.  So I have never seen Peter Thomas Roth.  But if he is selling products that are touted as making one look youthful I think it is a bit dishonest to have plastic surgery and then hope the buyer will think... wow... what a great product.  Should be a disclaimer of sorts.  Of course he would not be the only one.

A real pet peeve with me is to sell products to  create a youthful appearance... removal of wrinkles and use a very young person as the model.

You state this as a fact (not an opinion).  Where are your facts to back it up?  Do tell.

OMG!  I just clicked the TSV video.  He looks THIRTY years younger!

Initially I thought WOW, how nice that PTR has his son working with him.  Then I realized that, OMG, that's actually him! Amazing transformation from the weight loss.  He looks so much younger. Amazing what weight loss will do?  Don't think he had anything done.

I agree.  The weight loss has had an amazing impact on his looks.  I think he looks much younger.  And I don't think the change is the result of plastic surgery.  I do like the beard.  His hair was shorter the last time I saw him and maybe not quite as dark.  I prefer that look to the long shaggy hair he has today.  Otherwise I think he looks great.

Hmmm. We must not be googling w the same Google, as there are barely four pics of ptr on google. I haven't posted here before, but I've been qvcing for 25 years. Didn't even come here intentionally tobpost-google led me here w my search of 'ptr plastic surgery'.  I also worked at sephora and am super familiar w ptr and his products. It doesn't matter to me if you think he's had plastic surgery or not. He's clearly (to the well-trained eye, at least) had his nose tip/bridge slightly modified, as well as his upper eye lids done. Huzzah for him.

@jennijenni - I'd say your Google is broken then.  All I put in the search bar was "Peter Thomas Roth" and it came up with dozens of photos.

Working at Sephora allowed you to become super familiar with PTR?  (Your words.)  So you've met him in person?  That must've been nice for you.

And curious to read that you were doing a search of "ptr plastic surgery" and it just happened to lead you here on the very day he's having a TSV and someone had started a thread about the very subject!  Isn't life one big amazing coincidence?  Woman LOL

You're correct - there should be "a disclaimer of sorts" and the "disclaimer" in this instance is that no one (and I mean no one) on these boards knows whether he's had anything done or not.  He certainly doesn't look it.  This is just the usual thread that springs up with every beauty line vendor who has a TSV.  And almost always new posters who have "been QVC customers for 25 years" and have only just decided to make this kind of thing their first posts.

I find it incredibly offensive that these posters imply that a vendor is lying or trying to deceive their customers.  They have absolutely no basis for such claims.  (And I'd put money on the fact that these "customers" don't even buy the products, so have no idea how well they do or don't work.  They just like to stir the pot.)

JMHO, you understand!
