I don't recall seeing it in the Bible or in any fashion publication. Do it if you like, but no one has to do that. Polish on toenails often leads to them turning yellow.
And I couldn't agree more with Happy Housewife. I am diabetic, and my counselor has said for years to stay away from pedicures. Both the germs and the possibility of even a small injury are reason enough to care for your own nails. And don't forget it's important to keep your own implements clean and germ free before using.
Or go to a podiatrist with a nail tech working there as I do. She cuts and files them then soaks the calluses and the doctor trims down the calluses. Medicare pays for this for diabetics.
Does Medicare pay for "pre-diabetics"? I thought you were in that category according to your thread on the wellness forum.

Its impossible to be out in the world and not have seen gross feet (not just one bad toe), rotten teeth, horrible BO, greasy hair, etc, etc. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it but I also do not understand anyone who has such poor hygiene.

Clean, well-groomed feet are a part of being a clean, well-groomed person...obviously. Hygiene habits may be different for some, but, sorry to say, those people need to be taught proper hygiene, because, whether you care to admit it or not, there is indeed a right way to be clean...and then there is the other way...the dirty way! Clean is clean...good taste in shoe selection is good taste, and should involve choosing footwear appropriate to the condition of your feet...and, yes, I agree with the poster that said polish should be used if you are going to show your toes...what is the problem some have with doing, or having, a pedi? What is the matter with wearing polish on toes? What difference can it possibly make if your nails discolor because of polish? You should have the discoloration covered by more polish anyway! Plus...toe nails discolor and thicken with age...regular pedicures will help your feet in lots of ways...there are just some things that are true...some would rather make holier than thou statements than admit that, unfortunately. Bottom line...just take care of your feet...do the world a favor!Wow, talk about holier than thou! I think maybe you have the market cornered!
Polished toe-nails has absolutely NOTHING to do with hygiene and everything to do with being brainwashed by the beauty industry.
Are guys required to polish, too? Cause my husband is not going for that!

Well, I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't know about the nail polish requirement if you're wearing sandals (although I do know that ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law). Could someone fill me in on the specifics? Is a neutral polish okay?

I wonder if OP has a foot fetish. Who goes around looking at other people's feet?
Better yet - who goes around looking at other other people's feet and then comes online and writes about it?

Another pet peeve. Women who wear dark polish on their toes and leave their toes exposed with chipped polish. I do my own pedicures. It is not that hard or time consuming.

Maybe the OP should consider that the ill-groomed feet she is seeing may belong to a woman who is fighting to work 2 jobs, maybe she is a single mom, and yes, maybe she plain doesn't have groomed feet on her agenda. Get over it! btw-I've been all of the above.

Anyone know its name? And please, if you are not going to wear polish on your tootsies and your nails look dingy, yellow and yucky, and you can't get them to look clean, you can buy a powder that you put into warm water and dip your toes into, and they will bring your toenails back to the pretty white they should be!
I also know there is also a way to do it at home, probably with hydrogen peroxide and baking powder, I'm guessing?
