I recently saw a TikTok where a woman bought a $400 perfume. She said it had no scent after purchasing. She said no worries, spray a few times and then store in a drawer with the lid off for a few weeks. She said the scent will mature and become what it is supposed to be. Is this true?
I saw the same thing with mascara a while ago, they said for thin mascara to use it a couple of times then set aside for a few weeks. It will thicken and be ready to go.

@MG Chris Sounds a little crazy to keep expensive perfume with no fragrance, right?
Mascara wands that are left to dry out will be too old to use. since it'd have to be left open. Make a note not to purchase that brand next time if too thin or runny. I like to wipe the wand lightly on a kleenex before applying to cut down on flaking with thick mascara.

I have some magic beans that I would like to sell those folks who bought $400 bottles of water.

I thought the perfume thing was weird. I just thought maybe there was some science behind it I didn't know about since I am not a fragrance connoisseur.

So I just did some quick research and the maturing perfume is a thing. Some say it takes 6-12 months.

😆 The maturing must only work for expensive perfume. I have had Amazing Grace maturing for months in my drawer. It has matured from smelling like 70% to 100% rubbing alcohol! LOL!

@Imaoldhippie. Stories like that keep people who buy $400. Perfumes from scammers from complaining about it. They're told, "just keep the drawer closed and wait."

Long after the return window, right? I just received a far less pricey bottle of perfume which has no scent. It's going straight back.
