Recieved Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid a few almost two weeks ago. Face is starting to breakout with cystic type acne. I am in my mid 50's and any acne had subsided a few years ago. Anyone else had any issues with breakouts?

Not from that one but I do from her RESIST 2% BHA. I use the 2%BHA anti redness one as it is more gentle, imo, and I have't had any issues with that one either.

I had the opposite problem. It dried my skin out bad, and i do not even have dry skin to start with.

Sorry you all are having these problems. I am using everything mentioned below nightly and my skin looks fantastic, even though I never had any breakouts.
I had been using more expensive products from the Q, but these work exceedingly well for me.
And I have saved a lot of money!

I would call their customer service. Products are guaranteed for 60 days. They may suggest another product for you. I've been using her products since 1995 and absolutely love them, especially the Resisist serum, BHA & AHA.

The only type of Paula's Choice BHA I can use without problems is the Resist Daily-Pore Refining Treatment. All the other I've tried are much too sticky and heavy for me and end up causing breakouts and/or dry skin. But I do love the Resist.

I just recently started with her products because of a sample I got. Her website gave me a 20% off code and free shipping so I ordered one of the cleaners, it came with 2 books and 3 more samples, si I ordered another product from one of the samples and got another 20% off and free shipping,
I read the booklet and here's what it says about BHAs and AHAs,
BHA is salicylic acid and preferred for oily, acne prone skin and treating blackheads and white bumps because BHA can get through the oil that's clogging your pores and normalize the lining of the pore..., it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action.
AHAs are preferred for sun damaged and dry skin because they exfoliate on the surface of the skin and improve skins moisture content. I use AHAs.
I wonder if perhaps you did have some clogged pores and really never knew it because you were not using a product that exfoliated down below the skin surface and now using the BHAs it has opened up the pores and brought things to the surface. Maybe if you continue using it, the breakouts will clear up and you'll have the best skin of your life.
I have really been liking the 2 products I got.
