---------Paging SuzyQ3----------?

Hi! re: "woke up this morn. & was horrified" thread of mine. Well, I am better & the redness is gone for the most part. I am having a problem tho with my inner chin & around the edges of my mouth, so I will explain further...

The redness is patchy & dry & slighty on top of my skin & for the past few hrs. its been itchy only on one side of my mouth. Did you ever experience that? I put no product on that area. I tried Eurcerin healing cream & thats not working. I put fresh aloe that spot & its taken away some of the itchyness. I have not idea what it is, do you?

I am going to have my pharmacist take a look at it. If it doesn't go away, I will make an appointment with a derm. Thanks for any input you can shareSmiley Happy

Any of the ladies who have had a similar problem, please chime inSmiley Happy

kabella, sorry, I'm not SQ3. But this got my attention: I am having a problem tho with my inner chin & around the edges of my mouth, so I will explain further...The redness is patchy & dry & slighty on top of my skin & for the past few hrs. its been itchy only on one side of my mouth.

When I was a teenager and my early twenties, the dermatologist diagnosed this skin issue as seborrheic dermatitis. I remember the issue on the inner chin. Later,after taking an airplane trip where the air was so dehydrating, it triggered a relapse.

I was given a prescription hydrocortisone. Only I was kept on it too long and the broken capillaries on my chin. Evidently, that side-effect was less know in the days of the dinosaurs.

I'm hesitant to even mention this. Please do not presume that I can diagnose your issue. I faint at the sight of blood. No medical school would let me in. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Re: ---------Paging SuzyQ3----------?

My suggestion - stop all the products and let it heal on it's own.

Don't even wash your face with product. Just use water.

Your skin needs to ""calm down.""

ITA and if it doesn't calm down see a derm. My mom had this happen. The dermatologist told her to stop all her products and only splash her face with water. She did get a prescription but I can't remember what it was called. If the itching is really bad taking Bendryl might help since itching can be related to an allergic reaction.

Hi, kabella. No, I haven't had the experience that you describe. The only adverse reaction to a product was the one I described on your thread.

I hope it clears up. I think the advice to forgo products right now is spot-on.

Just to clarify, kabella, so you'll know I'm not a total kook.

I posted merely to relay that I had a similar experience. I was NOT advocating using any hydrocortisone. Goodness gracious. There are 2 camps online: one trusts strangers to give them medical advice and the opposite group says call your doctor or specialist as soon as possible.

I'm definitely a "no medicine advice thread" person. I was not advocating anything. In retrospect, I should have stopped my little fingers from posting. My bad. {#emotions_dlg.blush}

Re: ---------Paging SuzyQ3----------?

Thankyou Ladies & SuzyQ3 for the adviceSmiley Happy The Pharmacist seems to think its just a left over reaction to that night cream that caused havoc but she's not positive, of course. I think the advice to not use any product for a few days as far as cleansing & moisturizer is best. I do have an appointment next wk. with my Hematologist primary care Physican, so he will take a look at it & recommend a Derm. if I still have the problem.
