My daughter and I were at Target yesterday and we were looking at sunscreen and it was pitiful. I didn't have glasses so she was reading the product info for me. Many (10 or more) had little to no zinc. I think the highest we found was 4%. It was crazy. On the other end, CVS sells a zinc ointment with 20% and Desitin makes diaper rash cream with 40% zinc. I found that the sunscreen from Maren helped heal my retin-a burn more than anything else so I was on the hunt for zinc in case I did it again. I got the 20% ointment (cheaper) and it does not leave a white cast and it is soothing and hydrating. I remembered from a dentist appt. that zinc heals and I personally can't take the vitamin (upsets my stomach) so this works beautifully.

Impossible to find a decent drustore sunscreen, IMO -- but aren't you clever going to the baby department!

Is the 20% stuff wearable under makeup? Will you be able to layer it with your beloved Josie Maran?{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

HappyDaze doesn't tolerate high percentages of zinc well, but it IS a soothing protectant, if it doesn't bother you.

Maren, the one I bought has petroleum in it which would probably make me break out eventually so I would just add it to the JM SPF if I was going to be outside for a longer length of time. On another note you know how I burned about a week ago from the retin-a and I just got back to normal. I woke up this morning with the skin on my chin area peeling off of me like when you have a sunburn. So I am back to zinc on my chin. I am really loving the Suntegrity and the Supergoop CC in fair/light. I may have to breakdown and get at least one of them next week. One is 35.00 one is 45.00. I'll keep trying them till I run out and see which wins, lol.

Maybe the DeVita will work and that can replace our "underneath" sunscreen (that's what I'm hoping for, anyway) and if I'm going out I'd add the Supergoop as my makeup.

I should get it next week. :-)

I got the Andalou CC cream yesterday and so far I love it! It's a better match than the BB and its moisturizing enough that I don't need a separate moisturizer under it. It is slightly less shiney than the BB too. It's not enough coverage for everyday makeup but it will be nice for wearing on the beach. A light touch of powder and my skin looks really good.

I look forward to hearing what you think of the Devita.

eta~ and I think supergoop is a weird name for a eye product, the visual I have in my mind is not pretty!! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Hiya, SeaGal! You have a point. :-)

Yeah, it's the Supergoop CC cream that has become my fave. :-)

Hi Maren, gosh I never have heard of this line at all, I will have to look it up and see what you gals are raving about.

Since you are a 24 HR Youth Pres. Cream lover, you probably arent into the TTV tonight huh? The 24 HR is a little too heavy for me and am loving the CR texture. I bought 2 of them!! Very excited Smile

Yeah I decided not to try the supergoop after all since I am really happy with the Andalou CC cream and I like the ingredients in it better and the color is great for me. I can use the Andalou without any other makeup (foundation) over it, it has just enough coverage for me. Plus the Andalou is cheaper. I don't need to try something else that is more expensive when I am happy with a cheaper product! Smiley Happy
