@wagirl wrote:Yes I still wear powder foundation; I'm 63. I do , however, make sure my skin is cleansed and exfoliated as well as moisturized. I do have very nice skin, few lines and wrinkles due to good genes so that is a huge plus. I don't wear powder foundation much during the summer but rely on bb/cc creams and maybe a setting powder over top. I have been using the Clarisonic these past 5 years and what a wonderful thing it has been for my skin!! Am very dry year long.
I'm also big on exfoliating and using my Clarisonic. Blessed w/ good, clear skin, I can the full coverage foundations...powders, creams or liquids. My skin is fairly dry all year now as well. I never understood the difference between BB creams, CC creams and foundation. They all seem to do the same thing.
@Shanus BB & CC Creams are essentially the same, but CC is color correcting.

shanus--also those bb/cc creams are a little thinner so don't cover like a reg liquid foundation does. I love the water BB from smashbox---so nice.

Yes, and thanks to those on that thread that pointed out that Estee Lauder and Loreal products are NOT cruelty free.
That would include Bobbi Brown and MANY other lines since the companies are owned by Estee Lauder

Love the IT original Celebration Foundation in the black compact. (Not the TSV from Friday!) I do use a moisturizer and then apply a very, very thin dusting of IT's Bye Bye Pores loose powder first. (That is a Wayne Goss trick that makes any foundation last all day!)
I use the Light color of the Celebration Foundation and have found that using a stipple technique works best. It covers with a very natural finish - even under the eyes!! Doesn't take much but covers very well. Lasts all day. Top it off with another very, very light dusting of the Bye Bye Pores - just a tiny amount is needed. And I use the Sweet Cheeks loose blush.
Best foundation I have ever used!!!

Laura Geller Baked Elements powder foundation & moisturizing primer. This is sold as a kit. I buff it in and it doesn't even look like I'm wearing a powder foundation. I love it.

I never liked powder foundations. I tried BE & LG and others from the drugstore. They always seemed to accentuate pores and flaws on my very oily acne prone skin even when using a primer.
I am in my mid 50s now - still oily and acne prone. I use tinted moisturizers and BB/CC creams for foundation. I used those heavy liquid foundations in the 70s. It is great that there are so many good products and different options out there for us now.

HI @Shanus, I still use the orginal BM. Its the only mineral powder I wear in the summer day heat if going out. I am 53 & I only use a light application & buff buff buff. That warms it up & it does not look powdery on me at all. I don't find it to settle into fine lines if applied sparingly. Let's face it, at a certain age, the bright sunlight does not do us any favors. ![]()
Also, wearing a silicone primer with a powder foundation will help it from settleing into fine lines.

I did wear it once in a while until recently. I am 67 and started noticing it was making me look older and dull. One day I did one side of my face in liquid foundation and the other in powder foundation. The liquid won out by far! I am trying out cream blush, too. I do love the Clinique Cheek Pops. Not powdery at all and almost looks like a cream blush.
