PHILOSOPHY- Fragrances

[ Edited ]

I know in a long, two-hour show you have to come up with a lot of various things to say when these shows are on so often. But this morning the host/vendor wwere discussing scents and stated that Lemon Custard Body Gel actually makes you feel "happy" because of the scent.  Really ???????

Is that even possible???

Later, Fresh cream Gel was stated to draw people "into you" throughout the

day. Also , people will tell you all day that" you smell the very best they have EVER smelled !"       Really ????

Is that why you wear it and how often does that happen to you ?

If this is true, I might become a convert.

Flavors and scents can definitely evoke happiness in a person.

Although I am not a Philosophy user, I know that I do feel happy when I use WEN's Kids Strawberry-Banana cleansing conditioner. Not only does it smell like those two fruits, but the smell reminds me of Bazooka bubble gum and all the good times I had as a kid trying to blow the biggest bubbles with it. It brings a smile to my face and memories of a time that was more carefree.

The same for WEN's Kids Watermelon. That smell brings me back to the summer days as a kid when my mother always had cold watermelon for my sister and I for when we came in after playing outside in the heat. It was also served as dessert after a family meal. I naturally smile when I use it.

As to "drawing people in to you," I believe they are referring to people noticing you and maybe coming closer, finding it pleasant to stand next to you. I don't care to wear perfumes because the smell might be offensive to someone I come in contact with; however, when I walk by someone whose perfume I find pleasant, I turn around and tell them that they are wearing a nice scent. That also makes me happy by the way.

Just like I would tell someone that the color they are wearing is the best color I have ever seen on them, or I tell them that the way their hair is styled is the best way I have ever seen them do that, I suppose you could also say "you smell the very best you have ever smelled."

Our sense of taste and smell can produce strong emotions.

If I am having a down day & I use Dior Hypnotic Poison it makes me happy. And, my nephew used to come stand really close to me & tuck his nose into my side. One day I asked him why & he said it was because I smelled to good, so I suppose I drew HIM in.

I had a student, on crutches, who waited for me to ride the faculty elevator every day "because you smell so good". This was the last class of the day. I had 3 ladies come up to me at the clubhouse pool and they were very excited: "someone in a group walked past us and really smelled wonderful- so we've been trying to sneakily sniff everyone to see who it was, and it is you". I wear Amazing Grace.

I wear Summer Grace and I do get compliments.  I really enjoy the scent.  When I cannot find summer grace I wear amazing grace and I get compliments on that as well.  It does seem like  summer grace lasts longer during the day. I guess you could say it draws people to you.  I walked into an office once and a lady I had never seen before came to me and asked what I was wearing.  She had never heard of philosophy and she wrote it down.  I went into that office again and she said she had talked about it to her mom and her mom bought some for her.

I love apricots and cream and use it often.   I get people telling me that I smell really good.   The smell makes me happy.

I also get the same type of reaction when I use April fresh Downy in my laundry.   I love how that smells too.  I think it reminds me of my childhood because my mom used a fabric softener that smelled like it.

There's science to back this up - scent is one of senses most closely linked to memory and scents can evoke feelings of happiness, comfort, fear, or other things linked to scent memory. That's why houses sell faster when someone bakes cookies or other treats during an open house event.

If you don't like the scent of lemons, Lemon Custard won't make you happy. If you buy something because some people think it's the best scent EVER, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Lemon Custard is one of my favorite Philosophy scents and does make me happy. I had a Lemon Custard scented hand cream I wore when I was visiting my friend and his 2 male roommates. One night I put the hand cream on while we were watching a movie and my friend's brother said, "I like it when Chynna comes over. Everything smells better when she's here."

I like Fresh Cream. It's a warm vanilla scent and I love it in the winter more than the summer because it makes me feel like a warm blanket on a cold night. It's not the best scent I've ever smelled, but it's a good one.  Scent is very personal and just because some people call something the best scent ever does not mean everyone will agree. So when you ask really, yes, really - THOSE people who said that think it is. Just like anything else, everyone has different opinions and just like anything else, you shouldn't expect that everyone is going to love the same thing in the same way.

Right now I have Beach Party in my shower and it smells like a pina colada and makes me want to go hang out at the beach or in a tiki bar. It's a nice getaway in my mind scent to use before another day in the office.

I've heard/read that our sense of smell is the strongest of all the senses when it comes to triggering memories.  It's always a great feeling when I get a whiff of something..anything...that immediately takes me back to a pleasant childhood experience.  Perhaps that's why Philosophy has so many fragrances that are based on sweet treats?  Now, they'd really have my business if that 3-in-1 was a 4-in-1 - bath gel, bubble bath, shampoo, and dessert!

Maybe this is where I should be asking this simple question because no one can answer it, not QVC nor PHILOSOPHY

HAS BABY GRACE BEEN DISCONTINUED?

It's no longer listed with the fragrances on the Philosophy site, so it looks like it. They have been known to back things people talk about, so if I were you, I would start emailing and calling Philosophy and QVC to bring it back. That's how Lemon Custard and Shear Splendor came back - customer demand.
