Oh Wow!.. So hot and sweaty here in NC for weeks and more to come.

We all need to get out even just to food shop or get to the drugstore. I try to do both in one shot at Target...early morning, short list and out.

I'm experiencing some clogged pores (yes, me) and areas that are very dry because I'm skimping on moisturizer. My sunscreen may cause issues if it contains zinc oxide in a few of mine. I'm careful to avoid those.

I'm finding I'm doing cleansing more often...washing off everything if not going back out and staying bare faced to let my skin breathe knowing at night the serums, etc. will go on.

I've stopped my Retin A for the summer months. I haven't found an SPF that is sufficient when it makes my skin sun sunsitive. The same with my acids...I've cut back and not using them every day.

What, if any, changes have you made to your skincare routine in these sweltering days?

Re: PERSPIRATION AND SKINCARE

@Shanus  With skincare, there is very little I change up from season to season. I'm like the tortoise that methodically takes one little step, but just keeps going.

I still believe in daily gentle exfoliation, not overloading my skin w/ makeup (I never have used foundation, except for a brief BE period), and protective moisture.

Perspiration doesn't really take the place of that extra protective layer. But I know what you mean. Cause I perspire, too, especially when walking out there in the heat. I just try not to upset the apple cart, even if the apple cart otherwise seems to be tipping over.

Re: PERSPIRATION AND SKINCARE

Since I don't use anything skin-care-wise except Cetaphil cleanser, WEN Replenishing Treatment Mist and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel year-round, I don't change anything.

I wear makeup if going out (and sometimes when staying in!), and don't worry about sunscreen unless I will be spending more than 30 minutes outdoors...which is very rare for me.

Re: PERSPIRATION AND SKINCARE

No changes in skin routine. I have oily skin.

Years ago I had an awful reaction to an SPF lotion and since then just avoid sun exposure. Always wear a hat with a broad brim when I go outside.

Re: PERSPIRATION AND SKINCARE

My skincare is the same all year. I rinse with cool water in the morning, followed by moisturizer, (favorite is Korres yoghurt nourishing gel cream), undereye cream and a little highlighter. Gentle cleanser at night with lactic acid a couple times a week and night cream moisturizer in between.

I haven't been going outside in this heat so no need for sunscreen. I apply it when I'll  be outside for a few hours.

On our recent cruise to the southern Caribbean, my daughters shoes did actually melt! Olukai flip flops. Yes it was that hot. She contacted the company afterwards and they sent her a brand new pair

Re: PERSPIRATION AND SKINCARE

@Shanus when you talk about a possible issue with your spf (zinc oxide) does that ingredient dry out skin? Thanks.

@Applecakes   For me in this extreme heat, it just feels heavy and occlusive. Some spfs with the zinc ingredients do have moisturizers, too which for my skin which is dry.

I had been using a Neutrogena SPF w/ zinc, but now changed to EltaMD UV Sport because it's water resisitant (sweat, too) for my early morning walks.
