Impossible to fit liquids in 3.4 oz. bottles and put skincare, any liquid makeup, mascara, perfume, etc. in a sandwich bag...for 8 days.
Airlines need to change this regulation for women.

It's hard for longer trips, but they put the rule in place after getting tips about terrorists making explosives out of chemicals they carried on separately and combined once onboard. Women can be terrorists, too. They can't change the regulation for women.
I check a bag and put all my toiletries in the checked bag. I fly Southwest so that I don't have to pay to check a bag fee.
You can also put them in a box and mail them to your domestic destination, but that might cost as much as a checking a bag. Call ahead to let the hotel know you're expecting a package and they will hold it for you. I wouldn't risk it for international and would check a bag.
I sometimes visit my parents for 2 weeks over Christmas. Checking a bag is worth it.

@Alison Wonderland I do have a bag to check, but thought about my stuff spilling on my clothing.

You'll have to put it in your checked luggage. Put it in a zip lock large bag so if any spills it will stay in the bag. If you are taking so much it won't meet the regs for carry on luggage - you have no other choice.

There were some good suggestions on the other thread about this, like buying toiletries when you arrive, or FedEx'ing ahead of time. Hope you have a good trip!

@151949 Hi. The ziplock bag is now in my carryon tote along w/ my meds and and makeup bag...breakables in there like compacts w/ mirrors, shadow palette, etc....so would rather carry makeup on than check. Meds have to come w/ me & don’t weigh that much. I am tiny, but mighty and that tote bag is HEAVY. Guess I’ll just tough it out!
The good thing is most of that skincare will be empty on for flight home.

I scotch tape closed push tops and will wrap items I'm afraid will leak in saran wrap first. Then put in the plastic ziploc. Waterproof makeup bags are great too. Honestly, I can't live without my Joy Mangano Beauty Roll-Up Travel Organizers. I use them in the house and for travel. Have never had a leak.

It's awful when that happens. I make sure my toiletries are all in plastic bags or wrapped so they don't leak on clothing. You can also pack a "barrier item" as a last line of defense between any toiletries and clothing. I use an old t-shirt to blot my hair dry after a shower because it prevents frizz. That means I always travel with an old t-shirt. And because it's an old shirt I'm not going to wear, it's great for putting between my cosmetics and my clothing. If body lotion or face cream gets on it, I can wash it in the sink and hang it to dry without worrying too much about it.

@Shanus... I use old contact lens cases for liquids, and fill them with my serums, hair products, sunscreen, etc. But, I recently took a 10 day trip, and decided beforehand to just purchase some (less expensive) things at my destination. That worked well! (Yes, I packed for a 10 day trip in a 21 inch carry on, plus a small, briefcase size backpack.)

This thread helped me reevaluate what I'm bringing with me. Never ceases to amaze me, wonderful suggestions here. Thanks ladies! Safe travels.
