Have you ever read a beauty review where there was a choice of several fragrances, body wash or body creams etc and the reviewer didn't say which fragrance etc that she/he bought and was reviewing?  Why write a review but not say which item you are referring to ?  I just read several reviews for Philosophy body creams where there was a choice of items but the buyers never said which body cream they purchased but they gave bad reviews and a few were good reviews.

So how can one know which item is the one or not the one to buy ? I know it's a personal choice and even if you were to buy it you still might not like it and send it back.

But why take the time to write a review and not say which fragrance you are reviewing ?  Does anyone read the reviews and if so does that help you make a choice or do you just go by what the host/vendor says about the product and make your choice based on that ?   Just wondering

And I can't figure out what color they got!

You get those links after you buy something that say "Review your purchase" & maybe they think that it automatically indicates what fragrance or color they purchased.

It is frustrating.

Yes, right here on QVC !  Example, Philosophy offers cloud creme in several scents. The host and vendor described the scents but going online to read reviews, the reviewer says something about buying the product and whether they liked it or not, rather they sent it back or kept it  but NEVER SAID WHICH SCENT THEY BOUGHT !!  How does that help the person trying to decide which fragrance to buy ??  Not every reviewer does that but many do !  Why write a review if you are not saying which product you are talking about ??  The Vendor and Host want to sell the product but I want to know what buyers think as well right ?

I think they think they might get poofed or something. I also have to laugh at people who are afraid to mention HSN (they're out there!) They'll say something like, "the other network in FL." But since they're both now owned by the same company I guess it would be OK, lol.
