Jean Louise, best wishes for a successful surgery. I'm glad you are confident in the surgeon, that's so important.

One day off your routine should not hurt your skin at all. But anesthesia is tough on your body, so drink plenty of water. Don't take aspirin or NSAIDS (they probably told you that) or even fish oil leading up to it. Also you may want to take Bromelain after for a week or so to help the incision heal, and depending on where it is you may want a scar patch to prevent scarring -- also wear SPF 30+ on that area or cover it with clothing for six months, also keeps the scar from appearing darker.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks, Rununculus - Yes, I've already discontinued all supplements and OTC's. A bit early, but my DH was having an out-patient procedure done this past Wednesday and since he had to discontinue his, I just did mine at the same time. Thanks for the recommendation on the water. I'll be sure to up my intake. I don't know what Bromelain is so I'll have to look it up.

First of all, I hope everything is okay for you. I don't think you will feel up to makeup. Cleansing & moisturizer is perfect. Have a speedy recovery & take care. Kat

You may have already found that Bromelain is a supplement from pineapple... health food stores carry it and you may be able to get it in time on-line. I've used it and it does make a difference.

JeanLouise, I also wish you well with your surgery and your post care.

If you decide to take some of your skincare products, I would suggest that you put a small amount into travel size containers. A friend of mine had some expensive toiletry items taken when she was in the hospital and in that continuous sleep stage. Sad to think that someone would rummage through a drawer but these things do happen.

Don't y'all feel better when you're worrying about how you look and not how you feel? Cheers to you JLF and hopes for a quick recovery and renewed interest in moisturizer!

Hi, Scout. I wish you a speedy recovery. I agree with (most of) the others -- drink plenty of water, and a cleanse and moisturizer should be fine.

Good thoughts & prayers your way, JLF!

I think we'd all be surprised with how well our skin can do without any "outside" help. Smiley Happy

I wouldn't skip antioxidants, though, if you can wangle that.
