I swear by Ouidad's Mongongo Oil for hair. Plus I really like saying "mongongo." {#emotions_dlg.lol} I prefer it to using any of the oils I use on my face.

I use a couple drops on dry hair in the morning, but it is also great on damp hair. It offers UV protection as well -- and no silicones, sulfates, parabens, or waxes.

PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Coconut Alkanes, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Schhinziophyton Rautanenii (Mongongo) Kernal Oil, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Seed Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Hydrogenated Castor Oil/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Fragrance (Parfum)

Looks pretty good for a commercially available oil blend. Normally, when I see an oil/oil blend on store shelves the first ingredient is not an oil, but a silicone. Usually, I just mix up my own oil blend. In fact, my oil blend began with just Broccoli seed oil, but I couldn't deal with the smell (I hate broccoli and can't stand the smell of it). I recently added Argan oil to it.

I believe Acure makes an oil blend without silicones. I'll double check my bottle & report back.

It's Ouidad, not Quidad. They have their own website. It's a product line targeted for curly hair.

I checked around, and I think the best deal is on the Ouidad site itself because they're having a F&F sale this Memorial Day Weekend. That would be the way to go. It's not sold too many other places, and this way you know you're getting the real deal and that is fresh stock.

It is expensive. Do know, though, that it lasts forever because you use so little. I've barely made a dent in mine, and I bought the smaller size.

It's one product that I use at least once a day.

ETA: I had bought mine at curlmart.com. I think you can get a promo code on retailmenot.com for 20 percent off and then choose their least expensive shipping option, which is $4.

Just figure out which total is lower. You can trust curlmart.com also. I've purchased from them several times.

I should have been more clear that the Ouidad Mongongo Oil is not for conditioning the hair. It's more of a treatment/styling oil type product.

I've used oils on my face and in my hair for years, including coconut oil, and even my body washes have a variety of oils (including coconut oil) and I've never once had a clogged drain, even when I lived in a really old home with old piping. I think clogged drains have alot to do with a variety of things, not just what you put down the drain. Everyone should be maintaining their pipes on a fairly regular basis and if you don't, your bound to have issues with clogged drains. My good friend's husband is a plumber and says most people do not do regular maintenance on their pipes and then pay for it in the end.

HappyDaze is right about maintaining your drains, just like maintaining oil changes in your car (another subject.)

We pour vinegar down our drains every week. I like to do it 2x a week.
