I have tried going on the internet but have not found an answer to my question. Is the coconut oil in a liquid form? I have some at home but it is solid and I use it for cooking - not sure it would work for rinsing. Any info would be helpful. Also, any suggestions as to where to purchase the oil? TIA
Coconut oil is solid and turns to liquid when heating. I think it would liquify pretty easliy in the mouth. I have Trader Joe's Coconut Oil that I plan to use. Any organic coconut oil should do and is probalby found at most grocery stores by now, but if you can't find it there then any health food store, or even somewhere like the Vitamin Shoppe or somehwere like that that has health food & supplements would probably have it.
Thank you so much for the information. I have some coconut oil I am using for cooking so I am going to try it tomorrow morning. Than I may buy a better quality. Thanks again.

What you heard is incorrect.
If you research the history you will learn that sesame & sunflower were the original oils used for healing with oil pulling in ancient Ayurvedic medicine.
Sesame has always been considered the very best oil to use.

Yes my friend just posted an article about it this morning on FB, and I can't remember where else I read about it. But I'm officially interested!Does your husband notice significant whitening? I've heard it whitens teeth really well which would be a huge plus, I'm sick of spending money on white strips etc and having sensitive teeth, and not that great of results.
A couple months ago I told my husband his teeth were looking whiter and I didn't even think of the oil pulling as the reason because he always told me he does this to remove toxins in his body - he didn't mention the teeth benefit but I have to say, they do look nice.

I just saw this on a newscast today. Never heard of it. I'm trying to imagine being able to keep something like this my mouth for 20 minutes. Don't think I could.

I just tried it before making my dinner. It was rather hard to swish for 20 minutes, hopefully it will get easier! I was originally thinking I would do this at night instead of morning before work, but maybe it would fly by if I did it while showering and getting ready in the morning. I'm going to try to stick with it and see what happens!
I heard switching back and forth between oils is recommended since different oils have different benefits. I may try sesame seed oil too.

There is a very informative site called oil pulling dot com that has answers to most questions regarding this method.

I've been thinking about doing this but I keep forgetting about it. Saw the thread this morning, and now I'm sitting here typing with my mouth full of olive oil.

I have one more minute to go.

Okay, that was an odd thing to do at 5:00 in the morning. But I didn't start out slow, doing five minutes first. I went the whole 20 minutes, then spat the oil into a Ziploc bag.
It was peculiar, but not entirely unpleasant. I'll do it again.
