This is the 2nd time this topic has come up today, and 3rd in the last week. I'm going to try tonight and hopefully not lose my patience before 20 minutes is up!

This is going around Facebook lately, so that is probably why we are seeing it here. My husband has done this for a couple years. He does this while in the shower (he takes long showers!) so it is pretty easy to accomplish.

I have read somewhere that you should use only coconut oil for this since coconut oil is a natural antibacterial substance. I'm not sure that sesame oil or other oils would have that same impact so I would do some research before using anything other than coconut oil.

I do it, for a few minutes... up to 10, when I'm not feeling well or when my teeth are starting to yellow or I feel any build up on them. It is great for the teeth. Not sure that it's getting rid of the toxins in my body, though. I'm not feeling great today... woke up all congested. I tried pulling, but I'm not breathing well enough through my nose! Only made it a minute or two.

I am very interested in this. I currently rinse with Hydrogen Peroxide but not for 20 minutes. I have tried going on the internet but have not found an answer to my question. Is the coconut oil in a liquid form? I have some at home but it is solid and I use it for cooking - not sure it would work for rinsing. Any info would be helpful. Also, any suggestions as to where to purchase the oil? TIA

Coconut oil is solid and turns to liquid when heating. I think it would liquify pretty easliy in the mouth. I have Trader Joe's Coconut Oil that I plan to use. Any organic coconut oil should do and is probalby found at most grocery stores by now, but if you can't find it there then any health food store, or even somewhere like the Vitamin Shoppe or somehwere like that that has health food & supplements would probably have it.

Start with a spoon of solid and work it around and it will liquify as it warms and mixes with saliva. It is supposed to help whiten, remove plaque and tartar, promote gum health and remove toxins from the body. There is a lot of info on the web.Costco has cheap organic coconut oil.

Yes my friend just posted an article about it this morning on FB, and I can't remember where else I read about it. But I'm officially interested!

Does your husband notice significant whitening? I've heard it whitens teeth really well which would be a huge plus, I'm sick of spending money on white strips etc and having sensitive teeth, and not that great of results.

I have been doing this for a while and will see if it has helped my gums at next dental visit. It took me a long time to work up to the 1 tablespoon recommended. I use sesame oil.. I have coconut oil but prefer the taste of the sesame.
