Off with the acrylics on with the Shellac...

I just recently had my acrylic nails removed after 4 years of wearing them. I decided to get through the achingly thin and ugly stage by having a manicure and shellac put on. i must say it looks really good. I am on my 3rd day and the shellac is still the same. I used a very neutral color.

Has anyone done this and how did it go after a while? Did the shellac protect the delicate nail beds ok and did it last on the really thin nails?
