Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Pepe's mom, I just feel deflated. I told her I thought maybe getting a second opinion was a good idea and stopping the PT for now. She said she did her own eval Tuesday and wasn't going by what the ortho wrote. She said she told me (she didn't) that the eval was designed to provoke pain so she could decide what therapy to do. She is putting a lot of blame on bad posture! I am very unhappy! My rib got hurt laying on the table and pulling weights, have a pain in my stomach, my neck has been twinging sporadically since Tuesday (new symptom she "provoked"). If I get any more help it may kill me. I will see if during my physical maybe the NP can order an MRI. I really wasn't looking to do upper body exercise and not sure the ortho wanted that as PT. PT has no idea what my medical history is yet she is having me do this stuff?

Oh, and while I was out the NP's secretary left word, no food or drink for 16 hrs before the physical? Huh, I have had shorter fasts before surgery! Hope she gave the wrong info because i am not waiting that long, blood-work is 8 hrs, not 16! Will call tomorrow and ask.

Glad you got 2 nice scents. I didn't like Fresh Cream either. The ones you got are my type of scent. I know we are supposed to go heavy and woody for winter but I don't follow that either, I go by mood.

I know they sent you the wrong IT foundation, but wondering, does the scent of the powders bother you? I can't stand it for some reason. The CC scent is fine with me, but this one bugs me.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Oh, the phones went dead from the lightning last night and they were here quite a while fixing that. I think it fried 2 HDMI ports on the TV, so that will probably die next. The disposal died last week. Normally DH would tackle it but after our flood, he is getting estimates. So far they have been crazy-high so another plumber is coming Sat. So much fun here lately!

Someone please post something happy. Cool

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Desi, I have tried almost all of ET scents after getting my first WD and loving that so much BUT other than the emeralds and rubies I didn't like any of the other ones, way too strong on me. While others say her scents are all strong maybe it is my system that doesn't make them strong on me, don't know but do know I really really like the plain WD and these other 2 aren't bad after 30 minutes on me and will keep them. I give away so many scents I get before I try them.

I did get a nice brow product, 2 in fact after reading a post about brow products. I went to Walgreen's and picked up Milani Easybrow automatic pencil and let me tell you it goes on as easy as the IT 5 in 1 gel pencil. I did send the taupe back(IT) I also got the Milani Brow Tint Pen which is also nice but have to practice with that one, is a learning curve since I never used a brow marker before which is really what this one is but like both although the pencil is a lot easier to use.

I also picked up at Target L'Oreal Infallible Silkissime silky pencil eye liner and does go on like silk and it does last even on my bottom lash line, wore it for 2 days now. I got charcoal and it is almost black so I only wore it on the top lid once, yesterday, is almost black but good for the bottom lash line. I will look for a softer shade in this for the top.

pepesmom, no, don't have a lot of foundations that agree but did find these 3 in a row Mally liquid in the compact, Mally air brush mousse in the pump bottle and BE bareskin.. While I did get the new CG & Olay in the jar, don't use it anymore since it started feeling to heavy on my face through out the day and if I applied too much by accident it was sticky. The IT CC foundation from her TSV I can't wear at all, way too heavy for me so cancelled AD for that. I also can't wear any powder foundation or anything too heavy or too thick and my face stayed sticky even though I used as little as I could. It also has to be gentle around the eye area since my eyes are sensitive and do tear a lot at the outer corners, always did.

I am on AD for all 3 now, BE bareskin, Mally liquid in the compact and Mally air brush mousse in the pump bottle which the brush is also very nice that comes with it. For all 3 of these I use so very little of each. BE has the least coverage but I really don't need a lot of coverage. If I had to pick one I really don't know which it would be, probably one of the 2 Mally ones though.

pepesmom, sounds like you are super busy at the clinic and doing a really great job and service there, great, nothing like that around here. The only thing you can do here is volunteer to walk the dogs or visit them and take treats or on movie night if you don't bring your own you can sit with one of the dogs there to watch the movie and share a little pop corn with but that is only once a month.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Hi all. Not raining but not a pretty day out either.

Doglover, glad you found some drugstore stuff you like. I had looked at those eye-liners too but tired of trying them and not returning them.

Tried the IT kit again today. I guess if I apply the foundation and blush super light I could wear it, but I don't love it. I think oilier or young skins might be thrilled but it's just too dry for older skin, even being combo like mine IMO. As a touch-up it just emphasizes every flaw and makes my skin look worse, so not good for that either unless you are very oily.

Still a mess from the PT yesterday, she created problems where there weren't any in my neck and shoulder and my hands are also worse. I cancelled the Tuesday PT and will discuss all this at my Monday physical. Wish me luck, those don't always seem to go well either. Wink

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Desi, think you are wise, wait for PT till you get all the facts on just what is going on before she does more damage than good.

I had my makeup on from 2 PM Thursday afternoon till just now, 6 AM Friday night/Saturday morning since we didn't go to bed yet since then other than I did doze off on the sofa for about 2 hours earlier.

I couldn't believe this L'Oreal Silkissime eye lining pencil, still on which is a first ever so, going to pick up a softer lighter color for the top.The charcoal is almost black, can't see a difference in this and black, on me anyway and I did go lightly. All they had when I was there was this and black and thought charcoal would be fine, thought a medium to deep grey, isn't, like black but does last and goe son like silk like the IT 5 in 1 gel powder brow pencils and the Milani Easy brow automatic pencil.

I think I gave up on all powder foundations now, won't try anymore. BTW, got my TSV Mally AD today, compact liquid. I had the Mally air brush mousse on today, is the one that lasted this long as did my Milani brow pencil and the L'Oreal Silkissime. The Mally set of 5 lipstick pencils(chubby) are just okay, won't reorder and wouldn't recommend, drying but they sort of last but aren't as she described them, don't take the place of a gloss, not shiny in any way and are drying so not moisturizing as she said either, just okay.

Anyway, whatever we get now from both QVC and HSN we have till the end of January to decide. I really couldn't decide between the 3 foundations I went on AD for, like all 3 so, will continue to stay on AD and just skip a shipment of each every other one. The Mally mousse and BE bareskin will last longer I think since the Mally liquid in the compact may dry out if not used up so, will use that more but skip shipments in each for every other shipment, taking turns with each.

Certainly wish you good luck at the doctor and hope all goes well and they find out exactly what is causing this so something can be done.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Desi: Tell the NP that you are simply not comfortable proceeding with PT until an MRI is done. Let her know that after the eval you were in a different kind of PAIN than what you went to be treated for. Do not use the word sore. It is usually associated with muscle pain- like I walked 3 miles and my legs are sore. I would also ask for an EMG and Nerve Conduction study to eval the numb/tingling sensations in your hands.

doglover: Please report back with whatever liner colors you get. Too bad the grey looks black. Clinique used to have a liner called Slate. It was in a liner that was popular in the late 90's and was my ideal color. It was a medium light grey with just a touch of light blue to it, and complimented my bluish grey eyes very well. I always get excited when I see slate or charcoal lines, but quickly become disappointed.

I will be going to the police station on Monday to deliver the microchip scanner and train the Lieutenant and hopefully 2 other officers on how to use it. Bella will be coming with me as my microchip model. DH told me to ask the Lt. if he can give her an honorary police badge to wear around her neck.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Hi guys. Much nicer weather today, sunny, warmer and finally no rain!

Doglover, hope you can stop hunting for foundations at least for now. The 3 you are getting sound like they work well for you.

I won't go back to PT unless it's just massage and heat and I don't think I would want the same therapist or even that facility.

Pepe's mom, glad you got the scanner! Should be fun demoing to the force, hope Bella enjoys the attention. She should get a badge and maybe a hat for all her help!

I never said sore. I told the PT my neck now hurts when it didn't when I walked in! I think since I wasn't having the neck spasms the ortho wanted her to treat, she decided to create some! Good job, been non-stop neck tension and catching and headachy ever since! I am sure my NP just humors me, I am not shy about using the whole time telling her what is going on. Last year she informed me a physical wasn't for addressing specific concerns, just general health! She's gonna hear it from me anyway. Thanks for the advice, again, i appreciate your medical advice.

Watching The Good Witch, even I can't handle a marathon of them.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

pepesmom, tonight I picked up a L'Oreal Silkissime in green ivy. From the picture it looks like one I would like. They had it in a deep plum, cobalt blue as well as black, charcoal I got that looks like black and had some empty spots. I will try the green ivy Sunday and post back. I like a deep olive which I am hoping this is.

Desi, so right, like the 3 foundations I now have and used the liquid compact Mally today and got a compliment asking what I did different, said I looked good, did I get more sleep or what? Anyway, really do think my face looks better so, may be a favorite. I used the tiny brush that comes with this. I do like this one, only thing, isn't much in the compact and doesn't last as long as others. So, will stay on AD for all 3 of these and forget getting and trying more.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Doglover, hope the ivy looks good! I liked the looks of those liners too but didn't try - yet.

I am so tired of added pain, and not just in my neck. I had none when I went, just tingling and numbness in the hands which I explained to her. I am also angry, looked up my PT. Had asked for someone good with necks. Well, she's been doing this less than 2 yrs! So I am definitely cancelling the rest of the sessions and I am livid in addition to being in pain.

Back to make-up, I can't listen to myself complain anymore, you must all be tired of hearing it too. Tried the sample of medium CC that came in the IT TSV with Halo over it and the gradient blush. Medium isn't an awful color for me, it's just too dark. The blush, I don't know if it looks better or worse than the ones I have and I have a ton.

Looks nice out, very Fall-like. It may have rained again last night after I went to bed. We are still low on rain for the year but it sure seems to be trying to make up for it.
