I am so sorry for your loss .. I know exactly how you feel ... I had to put my 17 yr old mini poodle to sleep last year and my heart is still broken .. concentrate on your other fur babies and they will help you get through this sad time ... it gets better as time passes but, we never forget the love they gave us.

Thank you to everyone who wrote to me. I really appreciate it so much. Even though we've had to put other pets to sleep years ago, it hurts just as much each time. I know it will get easier as time marches on. I'll always cherish Cleo and will think of the good times we had together. Sue

So sorry to hear about your kitty, but, well I had to put down just a 2 year old kitty named Shelley, how I got her is kind of a long story, but I had so much joy out of that little kitty and she was very sweet and yes I was devastated when the Vet. said there is really nothing that can be done and that would be the best thing. I did cry for a while , but now I smile when I think how much joy a pet brings you for however long they are here. Hang in there it does get better but they are a part of the family too.

I forgot to mention that I'm sorry for the losses all of you have suffered also, especially Francesca for the loss of your 2 year old cat. I can't imagine how terrible that was.

I am so very sorry for your loss, and everyone's heartbreaking stories are all felt deeply by those who love animals.
You will, I promise you, eventually not hurt so bad, but, it's o.k. to cry and it's normal to hurt. I still cry when I think of, or talk about our precious cat that we had to put down two years ago. It was just heartbreaking, but she knew it was time and she let us know.
I still cry every time I think of the last time I nuzzled her little soft head and she looked at me with sad eyes.
Just mourn for your precious friend and don't feel that you have to apologize -- it hurts and a 19 year friendship is something to value.

I am so sorry to hear about you having to put your kitty down. My kitty is 17 1/2 years old and she is starting to have health problems. She does not want to eat much and is constantly thirsty. I took her to the vet today spent 285.00 for blood and urine test. The vet thinks my kitty might have kidney issues because she is suffering all the classic symptoms of kidney disease. I am so sad to think I may have to put her down as well. She has been with us since she was 4 months old. She is part of my family and we love her but don't want to see her suffer.
