OT- Is sewing becoming a lost art??

I answered another post that I made my satin pillowcases, which got me thinking.

I haven't make clothes or Halloween costumes for years, but I do mend and make household fabric items such as pillows, recover outdoor furniture, etc.

When my kids were young, I would even sew my neighbors' kids Girl Scout and Boy Scout patches for them because they didn't have a machine and couldn't even hand stitch it.

I taught my daughter how to sew, but none of her friends sew.

Do you sew? Do you think sewing is becoming a lost art?
