Re: OT: Computer Scammers At Work

The OP mentioned work numbers being called by scammers, when a phone comes into my real estate office there is no caller id, so not answering is not an option. I think that's what she's referring to. We have gotten those calls at work and all you can do is hang up on them.

LoveShelties, I didn't think of it that way, but it's good you brought it up. I interpreted her subject line to mean the scammers were at work, busy with their con game. Not that the OP was at work when she received them.

That's the problem of the written word, isn't it?Smile

But your point is well-taken: if the calls come into the workplace, there's no caller ID, and your phone system isn't set up to screen them, answering is the only option.

Re: OT: Computer Scammers At Work

I'm sorry you're getting these calls. We put ourselves on the Do Not Call registry probably every year. The calls stop, and then at some point they start up again. This is why I rarely answer the phone. My kids are going to grow up with a skewed notion of communicating! Unless it's someone I know, I don't answer.

Also, similar frustration with spam or junk email. I find that I Unsubscribe from a bunch of stuff, my inbox gets lighter, but then a few weeks later, WHAMMO!, I'm hit with new spam and junk and just ridiculous email.
