Joan was a true American treasure............her laughter, joy and kindness touched so many of us over the years............My sincere sympathy to her family and friends in the loss of such a beautiful lady........Joan will be greatly missed..................

I just watched a clip when she was on with Jimmy Fallon recently. She had the most beautiful emerald ring and necklace -- BIG! I have never liked emeralds -- ever! But this set took my breath away.

Don't know if you were around the Q when she'd bring copies of the most beautiful, unique, interesting jewelry pieces she'd gotten from Edgar. They were all works of art -- of course the originals, but her versions as well. Very well made and very special.

I bought so much Joan and Kenneth J Lane jewelry back then, I liked THEM both so much. Unfortunately I had everything stolen about 10 years ago, so no longer have them.

My sincere sympathy goes to Joan's family and friends in this very sad time. I know she will be greatly missed by so many. She was an extraordinary person and left behind a legacy no one will fill.

So sad!! She passed too soon... she really had a lot more living to do. NY News is reporting she had a very full calendar planned for the next few months. Also reporting that the clinic in Manhattan where she had the endoscopy is being investigated by the state for any wrongdoing. Certainly hope they don't find anything!

She honestly was a pioneer. Would she make me cringe sometimes? Yes. But she was a survivor, smart and a trailblazer. RIP.

I think I get your point Tinkrb144. We weren't allowed to pay tribute to those poor guys. Many grieving families out there, even members of our Q board here.

Those of us who have lost our Moms certainly understand the grief Melissa is feeling. But I was always grateful my Mom was here with me as long as she was; many lost their Moms long before.
