If Costco does have a non member buy available you pay 5% more BUT it is usually things in electronic or some clothes but the good skin stuff you HAVE TO BE A MEMBER.

First, you have to pay $50-60., to join Costco.

@Kachina624 That's why I don't join them.  They should be paying me to shop there.

A friend and I split the membership so it's $27.50 a year.  I'm single and it's worth it for me just in toilet paper, kleenex and paper towels alone!

Every year for many years I have received a cash back check from Costco that more than covers my membership fee.

I purchase there a lot for business and personal items.

Works for me, can see reasons it might not for others.

I don't have a membership to Costco because it's not close to me, my sister has BJ's card and I go with her there to pick up drinks, toilet paper and paper towels for the office. I have bought my son's dress pants there and many other items. Costco is really got the better brands but we don't go there often, we will use my dads card when we want to go. I do hate the concept of paying to shop somewhere but my sister doesn't mind me using her card:-) I don't think the prices at BJ's are necessarily cheaper on some items, I buy a lot of things on sale so if the items aren't on sale at BJ's sometimes it's more convenient than cost savings.

@noodleann I often wonder about the authenticity of outside vendor beauty products that I have received from Amazon. So I am committed to purchasing only shipped and sold by Amazon beauty products at this point.I also notice that you get a lot of soon to be outdated products from online beauty and food vendors, so I'm avoiding a lot of them too based on experience..

Costco is NOT going to sell counterfeit products, guys.

Well, apparently WM and Sam's Club did. I don't think it's possible to vouch for what any company pulling in over $118 billion last year is or is not going to do. I understand they have sound policies, but that doesn't mean some rogue element couldn't do there what was done at Sam's Club.

I'm with you. I won't buy anything time-sensitive or "personal," like food or toiletries, from third-party sellers on Amazone, or FBA. After receiving a bad tube of Paula's Choice from an eBay seller, no more from that source, either (and the tube was sealed, but funky).

Since my Part D pays none of my medicine I have a Sams card for $45 a year...........with my Sams card I get a medicine discount and it is major or I could not buy my meds..........so they pay for themselves..........they really do and the point is that you get two memberships so if you can get anyone to go into the membership with you you pay half each...........my sister I put her on my Sams card this year if she wants to be on my Sams she needs to pay me $22.50 as she has way more money than I do.

When I first joined Sam's it was $45 with a twenty dollar gift card. This is when Sams first opened in my area. So, my membership only cost $25.  I have a gift card for Costco that I never used. Costco is 17 miles from my house and Sam's is 2 miles from my house. I am single and buy their meat and bread. I just freeze both until I need it. I buy toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, ziploc bags, napkins, coffee, salad dressing, solid white tuna in water, mouthwash, kleenex, handwash soap, sponges and soda. This saves me alot of money. None of these will go to waste.
