He's so cute! We adopted a one-eye parakeet because we felt sorry for it. She lived a good live with us. I also had a parakeet live for 15 years. Still miss her.

I, too have always had parakeets, they are sweet very intelligent little beings. People don't realize how smart they are. As a fellow bird lover see if you can find on PBS website a special they aired a few months ago on the intelligence of birds. The segment on wild parakeets in New Zealand was cool. The flock was in the thousands. A bird of prey was to trying to catch 1 of the little guys who continued to evade capture he was even able to get a drink of water while avoiding capture! Sorry, I can't recall if it was on "Nature" or "Nova". I hope you can find it, think you'll enjoy it.

Aw...thanks for sharing the cute pictures of your posse! I'm always amazed at how poorly some people treat animals. I adopted a beautiful Border Collie 7 years ago that I found at my local animal shelter. She was so underweight but is now healthy and happy.

And they can sing beautifully! When I come home from work and talk to them one will sing a song to me, so pretty. I know 6 is alot but I am not going to get anymore or I will have to move lol
