O/T eye problems, floaters/flashing?

I just started seeing things float over my eye, and flashing like lightening. Never had any problems with my eyes whatsoever! I'm very scared! I saw a an eye Dr. yesterday. She said so far no tearing of the retina, but we'll have to watch. I go back in 2 weeks. I searched the internet for help, but nothing. My eye feels irritated, and vision is slightly off because of the floaters. This is so terrible, please, if any of you know something I can do, I would appreciate any help. Thanks!!!
