I go to a nail salon in the Los Angeles/Beverly Hills area. My tech and her sister are co owners of the salon. Every three weeks I get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The cost is $70 and I give her a $14 (20%) tip each time even though she is the owner. She receives over $250 a year from me in tips. I don't feel obligated to give her a Christmas gift.

This topic came up when I was out to lunch with some ladies yesterday. I mentioned who people said they were tipping and also mentioned that we always make donations to different charities at Christmastime. One lady (who is easily a millionaire) said that the only ""charitable"" thing she does at Christmastime was to tip her hairstylist!

Some people do drugs. I do shoes....Celine Dion
