If I lived nearby you together we could get it to the right people! I still can't get over the thought of No One willing to pick up your items! Sorry that happened to you....Goodwill is "for profit" and no longer picks things up from someones home,,at least not where I live. Salvation Army is non profit and will pick things up,,if you call and schedule a pick up time,,if the Salvation Army in your area has a truck, remember they are non profit. Also,,St.Vincent de Paul picks up also,,see if you have one in your area. Good luck.

I was also going to suggest Big Brothers/Big Sisters. They take most anything, definitely books and toys. Vietnam Vets don't pick up in my area but Big Brothers will. I just leave the stuff on my porch. They even take stuffed animals.

Also, contact a local church/daycare. They'll come.
I donate to them all of the time. They pick up right at your house. (DAV)

We had the same thing happen when Mom died. We called several agencies, no luck with any of them.

This could be a dup because I did not read all the replies. Would a pediatrician's office take them. Just a thought. Good luck.

Goodwill, the Salvation Army, DAV, and the Vietnam Vets, Habitat for Humanity, and a couple of local ministries where I live ALL pick up things.
Did they give you any reason why they wont pick up, or is it that they just don't do that any more?!

I stopped giving to the Disabled Vets when I learned they sell to Good Will, which I don't support due to the way they pay and treat their employees. Also, I saw a guy from DAVs literally throw the bags collected from my house into the back of the truck. The bag contained nice household items, that included lamps that were boxed, but were probably still broken and rendered useless.Purple Heat is another one to check into.
