Re: O/T...Sprouts Grocery ...

I love Sprouts! There is one about 30 miles from me so I usually go every month or so. I love the bulk-buy bins...nuts, grains, dried fruits, etc. I purchase their shopping bags as I think they are so cute....bright, cheerful colors so those are my grocery bags wherever I go shopping.

My sis shops there and says they're cheaper and better than Whole Foods. They're building one in our town this year so I can't wait to try it!

Re: O/T...Sprouts Grocery ...

Sprouts can have some great weekly specials, sometimes some BOGO free items. Wednesday is their double ad day (sales from last Wednesday are good on this Wednesday) so I often shop there on Wednesdays.

They sometimes have sales on their gifts cards where you can buy a $100 card for $89 which is a good deal. I will buy all they allow at that time (I think a limit of 10) and use throughout the year. That's like saving an additional 10% every time you shop.

They also occasionally have 25% off all their bulk items (they have a huge amount of bulk items) or beauty/health/supplement items.

Whole Foods has a better selection of organic produce but Sprouts can have some decent ones. I still go to Whole Foods (even though it's farther for me than Sprouts is) for my fish. Would not buy fish at Sprouts, but have bought the organic chicken they sell there.

I suggest you check it out for yourself and see what you think.

We shop at both stores, but prefer Trader Joe's and only shop at Sprouts if we're near it and want to buy something that Trader Joe's no longer sells such as cinnamon almonds and crystalized ginger.

Thanks ladies for all of your input. Whole Foods is on the other side of my town so I hardly ever go there. We have a Earth Fare store but I was not impressed with it at all, so I have hardly shopped there. I cannot wait for them to finish construction and move into the neighborhood. I read that they were expanding into the Georgia area also.

Honestly, I'd drive to the other side of town for Whole Foods rather than go to Sprouts. It's just not that great. It's ok but nothing special.

The store is sort of messy and to me looks almost dirty here. They have lots of bulk foods and snack-type bulk foods. The one here has very little organic produce. There isn't a great variety of brands and LOTS of pills and supplements. I hardly ever go there.

I like both Natural Grocery and Whole Foods, and Sprouts is LOW on my list. I can't get most of what I need there.

I don't think you can really compare TJs and places like WF/Sprouts. The latter are actual grocery stores with large produce sections and butcher-type areas for meat and seafood where there is someone behind the counter.

I love Sprouts. Their meat is excellent. The produce is good and they have a lot of variety. I buy all my meat ,vegetables , bread and bake goods at this store. I think their pricing is fair. Their own brands are just as good as the name brands. Trader Joe's does not have a good meat selection and their prices are really high. Trader Joe's has a lot of their own brands or off brands. Some of it is good, some not so good. Their prices are good for what you get. It just depends on what is important to you.

Cannot wait to see what this store will bring to our area. Again, thanks for all the input.

Re: O/T...Sprouts Grocery ...

Trader Joe's produce is a lot cheaper than Ralph's and Sprouts around here. We've bought some great steaks at Trader Joe's. I agree with the person who said Sprouts looks dirty. It's true that Sprout's has a huge section of supplements, but I don't buy them there. It's all a matter of opinion.
