Evening everyone,

I hope everyone has survived Black Friday and is now relaxing and recouping for Cyber Monday!

I just wanted to share with everyone about the package I got tonight in the mail.

Let me preface this by saying that I enjoy shopping on Etsy......I love the idea of handmade goods, I enjoy buying items that are made in the good ol' U S of A, and I love to see a true artist at work.

That being said, several months ago I contacted a seller from Etsy and ended up purchasing a memory quilt from them. For those of you who are not familiar, a memory quilt is a quilt sewn from several articles of clothing, or hats or socks, or whatever to make a quilt. I arranged to have one made from DS's old clothes that I couldn't bear to part with because they held special meaning. The outfit he wore home from the hospital, the bathing suit he wore the first time he went in the ocean, a pair of pj's he practically lived in, his first Christmas outfit, even a maternity dress I lived in my last trimester......well you get the idea.

Anyway, I boxed all of these goodies up and sent them off to this artist. I never, in my wildest dreams, expected this quilt to turn out like it did. I am not kidding you, when I tell you that I was stunned at the quality. The stitching, the way in which the artist laid out everything and put it all together, it is spectacular. I was a wreck when I opened it, because all these memories came flooding back. I kept DS up an extra hour, and told him stories from the blanket...."and this is the shirt you were wearing when took your first steps...." Sigh.

I just wanted to share this with everyone as I didn’t even know people made things like this until I found them accidentally one night on Etsy. This quilt is truly one of the best things I have ever recieved and I can not say enough about it.
