He'd start out slightly under but in the crook of my arm (he could hear my heart). Then most mornings he'd be sitting on the DVR in the bedroom crowing (like a rooster) telling me to get up $%#@ and feed him.

I always put out three different kinds of food. He picked what he wanted and then stood by the back porch door. I'd let him out for maybe 30-45 minutes. Then I'd open the door and he'd go over to the radiant heater (phew! That thing was hot)!

I'd been staying home almost becoming a hermit. He'd gotten so that he'd follow me around the house all day. Hindsight it may be that he was feeling the effects of his heart weeks ago but it didn't show (he was such an athlete .

I told my family I could not sell my house because Jack liked playing outside too much. I guess this will make it easier to sell the house.

Annabelle, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I don't know what to say to make you feel any less pain, but I believe your little Jack is in a happy place now with your dear husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jack the cat's momma ~~ Still trying to clear tears from my eyes. I understand how your heart must be breaking from your loss as I have been where you are too many times. He was lucky to have you hold him as he passed with your loving words in his ear. Bless your heart & RIP Jack.
