Summer, for me, has officially arrived! It was my last day of school for the year. It was a tough year, both physically and emotionally. I was told in October there probably would NOT be a job for me this next coming year. At age 57, with a Master's Degree, and 30+ years of classroom experience, I knew that would be a death sentence for me when it came to looking and procuring a teaching job. BUT...I am on the schedule for next year and did not get pink slipped. We are still in negotiations for the upcoming year, but at least, in these trying economic times, I still have a job.

The bad side of today was that I said good-bye to one of my best friends at school. She is retiring. I know she will be back to sub, but it was still very hard to say good-bye.
