Hi Ladies -

I apologize for going off topic here, but I'm at my wits end and feeling so down that I needed to ask for your help. I'm hoping that maybe someone will read this and have the answer because I've been to a dozen doctors who don't seem to know a thing, nor care about my situation. I'll try to keep this as short as possible. About 10 years ago, in my early 20s, I started to lose some hair and then a few months later I lost over 30 pounds without trying. I was eating non-stop and drinking weight gainers but kept losing weight. I finally stopped at around 90 pounds, and doctors were convinced that I either wasn't eating or that my body was "just changing" (why would I go to doctor after doctor if I weren't eating?) Anyway, I finally plateaued at the low 100s and my hair stopped falling out. It still wasn't as thick as it had been to prior, but it wasn't falling out at the rapid rate anymore. Anyway, a few years ago, this vicious cycle repeated itself, although I didn't lose nearly as much weight, but the hair started shedding. I even lost some body hair as well (eyebrows don't seem to really grow, patchy leg hair, etc...) The hair on my head is about 75% thinner - I used to have to get it thinned out, and now I lose so much hair it's a wonder I have any left. It is noticeably thinner and I'm now thinking about where I can buy wigs when I can no longer hide what is going on. I've had the run of blood tests (thyroid, etc...) and nothing seems off, but I know my body. I've even tried every vitamin/supplement known to man! No one in my family has lost their hair - I stick out like a sore thumb. And I hope this isn't coming off as vain - I just would like to understand why. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and had any luck with doctors? I feel very alone and am disappointed in the doctors I have seen who essentially have blown me off. If you can offer any insight, I'd be very grateful. Thanks so much for taking the time to read :-)
