I don't know very much about technology (I'm learning). I will be 67 years old this year. When my husband died I decided I would not close myself off. I would embrace technology and it would help keep me somewhat young. It's not easy. Especially for someone like me. I learn by 'hands on' not by reading directions.

Bla! Bla! That all said. Yesterday I was waiting for my hairdresser to come back to do my hair (I was late, so she walked her dog). Standing outside enjoying the air I heard my Iphone 5 making its weird noise, telling me that I had a phone call.

I pushed the answer button and suddenly my middle (adult) daughter's picture came up and she was talking to me! I've done SKYPE at home, but never away from home and on my cell phone! Then she put my tiny (she's almost 2) granddaughter on! Magic to my ears to hear "Hi Gama (Grandma)".

So here I was outside on a beautiful sunny day. Surrounded by mountains. Looking at my daughter and her daughter. Hearing their voices!

I'm sorry! I just had to tell all of you ladies if you can, don't be afraid of change. Embrace technology. Go to classes and learn, learn and then learn some more.

Also, it helps me when I talk to my Grandchildren (ages 9 1/2 to 8 months). Kids these days know about technology. It is fun to talk to them about new things like this. To these kids (all kids) this is like breathing. They are all so used to it.

I'm sorry.....now I'll go sit down.
