I figure that may be good for the beak. he is male so i have him in his own cage way from the girls. I got the girls a bigger cage.

Such a cute thread about budgies. I've had 3 but always one at a time.

the first was Fritz named after the breeder, the 2nd was Oiseau, the 3rd was Cosmo Topper.

Cosmo liked to pull hairs out of the dogs tail and sit on the dogs back.. She lived in an open door cage and could come and go as she pleased.

When we rolled the ball on the carpet for the dog she liked to follow after the dog. Sadly the dog accidentally stepped on her one day and Cosmo lasted only a few days after that.

Someday another budgie will come to live with us.

I am not sure. The girls are the oldest. I think they are 5-7 months. My blue girl has a well defined iris so I think she is the oldest but the yellow girl is much much larger in size but she has solid black eyes still that suggests she is younger? The two boys (front) are babys. they do not look it in the photo but they are smaller than the girls and they still have black ridges near the cere so i would give a good guess at 2 months or younger. The boys are really small. They all look the same size in the photo but they are not. must be the angles

I got something new for my little shredder loving hen. Petco had packages of little popcorn on cobs. I didn't pop the corn as she doesn't care for popcorn, but I put the whole cob in her cage. She had that cob stripped and the corn eated in half an hour! Your male birds are probably close to a year old. their ceres don't turn blue until they are that age. younger birds have very pronounced stripes going clear across and down to the cere. They lose those at the first moult at about 3 or 4 months of age. You are right...the keets are like tiny humans. They each have their own personality don't they? Too funny that they hide under your bed!
