Being that I had a hair salon, I learned about hair, skin and nails.

And Biotin has worked for many, that's a fact.

One can only try it for themselves, don't listen to those who have never used it!

Biotin works in conjunction with keratin production. Keratin is hair protein. So another dietary component with maintaining healthy hair is to consume adequate amounts of protein. The older you are, the more protein your body needs.

@bargainsgirl - I would not waste my money on Nutrafol.  I tried it for 6 months and saw no difference.  It's too pricey not to work!  You may want to try Viviscal, which is much more affordable and available at Ulta and even my local grocery store.  It helped me with hair shedding, but not so much with growth.  My derm now has me on a low dose of oral Minoxidil for 6 months.  It might be helping a teeny bit, but I suspect/hope she will up the dosage when I return for a checkup.

I take 10000 mcg Biotin daily along with 500 mg Keratin caps daily, no hair improvement, but nails are quite nice and strong. Also tried Lustriva, no results on hair

I suspect no supplement will do the trick.  I am against Minoxidill or any other chemical for me cause I am a breast cancer survivor and am afraid to use some of the stuff out there. My problem is not that severe...I can live with it at least for now LOL

I have never used Monoxidil either. You sound like you would be a good candidate for hair fibers, I use XFusion fibers daily in my hair, covers all the showing scalp.

Now I'm going to say the opposite. I've been on it for 2 years, and I can see a difference. My temples filled in a little, that is where I really needed the growth. But my sides and back have become thick again. My ponytail is full!

Xfusion is made by Toppik. Look for this on amazon:

Toppik Hair Building Fibers

It's the same product as the Xfusion, just a different name for it.
