When you put night cream on, doesn't most of it end up on the pillow? Even "oils" that people claim "absorb" into the skin, really don't. I've stopped putting cream on my face at night but my skin is looking real dry, especially around the eyes. I had to stop using eye cream at night because it made my eyes water.

I add my night cream before I go to sleep and let it soak in......try doing your cream a few hours before bed time.

I would try placing my cream on a few hours before I go to bed.

I do my nighttime routine right before bed. After I'm finished I might watch 15-30 mins. of TV. While I'm watching I massage my orbital zone and other areas around my face for a few minutes and do my cuticles with any residual oil my fingertips might pick up. My pillowcase and/or sheets aren't oily at all.

I apply my oils and night creams earlier in the evening. I usually take my shower about 7, and do my nighttime routine throughout the evening.

Almond oil is very light and absorbs easily into the skin. I wash my face put on my oil or night cream depending on what I'm in the mood for, and watch TV in bed for about an hour before bed. I never have anything on my pillow. Try to do it earlier in the evening or using a lighter hand.

I have the same problem with oils or creams not feeling like they're absorbing, that's part of the reason why I jump around so much and buy different things, I can't find anything I really like. My serums seem to absorb well, so sometimes I'll just use those and skip the night cream all together, but if my skin gets too dry I'll try to use a cream or an oil and just use a smaller amount or try to put it on a couple of hours before I go to bed also. My skin is really dry too, so I don't know why the products don't seem to absorb well. I don't know if it's the Albolene I use to take off my make-up? I thought maybe that was creating some sort of barrier so that my products didn't absorb, but I like the Albolene because it gets all my makeup off and doesn't dry out my skin. I'm thinking about trying another cleanser to see if that makes a difference.

Except for retinol/treatment, I put on the same moisturizer (aloe & oils) at night. I use a glob and I massage in -- smooth in, massage and massage until it is absorbed. Then always extra eye & neck support - pressing the eye things in, more smoothing the neck things in. In about a half hour or so, my skin is silky and dry to the touch.

I also do my shower/face care earlier in the evening, and I never have a problem either w/ putting on a swipe or two of powder & blush in the a.m., w/ pillowcases in the p.m.

It's not only that I'm using the good skin nutrients, but I'm doing all that facial massaging/ lymphatic drainage, and together this has been my fountain of youth.

@Dublingrl,

Thanks for the tip on the almond oil. I applied some this AM, & you're right; the skin absorbs it quickly. And it's very moisturizing. Funny, I've always had almond oil on hand for my HAIR, but never thought to put it on my face. Thanks!

That's another mistake I'd been making that I recently became aware of -- NOT massaging the products into my skin. That is so important!
