What are the nightmare stories you have heard? 


Yes!  It's the responsibility of the consumer to read the fine print and know what they're getting into, but many don't.  When someone buys the intro product (usually skincare, WEN, makeup) via a GR infomercial, they are also signing up to get auto deliveries (usually every 90 days) and giving permission to GR to charge their credit card every month.  Many people have the false assumption that they are ONLY buying an intro kit, but they aren't.  So the intro kit arrives and the person is trying it for a few days to a few weeks and decides they don't want it.  The problem is that the next charge has already been made to the credit card during the trial period.  The person returns the intro kit, but has a big hassle getting their refund and the second charge reversed.  If it takes too long, the third charge could be made to the card while they're trying to undo the second one and it becomes a big mess.  No, it doesn't happen to everyone, but it can be a nightmare for some.  The intro prices are often quite tempting, but often not a good buy when you think about the monthly charge for something that's on an every 3 mos. auto-ship.  If it's something that's an obvious one time purchase, like a MyPillow, that might not be as risky.  As always, the rule should be Buyer Beware.

Yes ~ JeanLouiseFinch pretty much sums it up.  You have to read all the small print.  I knew what I was getting into with the Victoria Principal when I signed up years ago.  And I used the product for a long time.  But, when I found something else that worked better for me, trying to cancel was a total months long drawn out nightmare.

That's what I've read here from many posters. Personally, fine print or no fine print, I would not get involved with that kind of purchase.

I started a thread about this foundation back in January, when it first launched alone on IT's site. You can read it here. Some information is posted there from responses from IT's Customer Service, among "normal" chat about it.

 

I used the product until it ran out. I didn't like it until about the 3rd use. Not sure what changed, but after that, I found it pleasant to wear and lightweight, with nice coverage. Is it worth $65? Absolutely not, in my opinion. On a side note, I've never tried anything from Guthy-Renker, but I never hear anything positive about them.

@Adelina  Here is my nightmare one and only experience with them. I orderd a duo of the summer mango coconut wen. It was NOT part of the subscription service- it was a one time buy-and was a good deal. So I purchased it and a few weeks went by and I didn't get a shipping email so Iooked it up and it still said it was in process. So I called customer service and asked when it was going to ship and wow they said it was shipping out that very day! Finally, I thought. Well another week went by and still nothing. So I called and was told it was on backorder, which I explained to them that at the time I ordered it it was in stock and then two weeks later when I called they said it was shipping out that day so what the heck happened?! By the way, they charged my credit card the very day I ordered it so this whole time they've had my money. Anyway, I asked WHEN it would be BACK IN STOCK and he said there was no ETA on when. So I pleasantly asked to cancel my order since all this hassle wasn't worth it and they had no idea when it would be back and it had already been 3+ weeks. He argued with me saying I could not cancel it since it was "in process" or something like that, that orders could not be cancelled. I was livid because I said it is backordered, you have no ETA and I was already lied to a week before that it was shipped so how in the world could I not cancel?? The CS rep was such a jerk too, that is really another reason it set me off. I had to escalate it up a few times, every person telling me I could not cancel, etc. To me,it seemed like the biggest scam. What if I had forgotten about my order and they never sent it yet kept my money? And no indication it was backordered at the time I purchased it, no email telling me that it was backordered and then lied to telling me it was shipping out that very day when it really was not?

 

So the savings was pretty good but certainly NOT worth the hassle. I did finally get them to cancel my order after being completely yelled at by a rude rep but I swore I would never, ever order from them again and I stick by that to this very day.

 

So no, not all complaints about GR are about their subscription/membership things- I think the majority of the complaints are about the rude customer service reps that lie.

There's quite a laundry list of ingredients. If you e-mail IT's Customer Service or live chat with them, they'll list the ingredients for you. I e-mailed them asking and got a response back in January.

It certainly is a new product Smiley Happy it was bought a while back as a TV deal.

I love it! it came in a small tube but as said in a post it's now on 'It's' Website. There are 2 other products I really like a lot from that TV deal which are not sold but on her site...but hope they will someday!

I think it's so much better then the CC cream spf 50. It's up there with the feeling and on me the look of a high end foundation that is way more then 65.00 (which is steep for J. Kern's foundations) but for me it's one of best I have tried recently and I have tried them all.

I am waiting to use up [some] up my other foundations before attempting to buy this. Hoping QVC offers it soon.

I feel the SAME Smiley Wink it is fabulous!! I had the light and it was not too light or dark. we are on the same page and I too asked and did a review about it on It's website as well as others asking to bring it back when it was sold out on her website (all of the colors but one).

Good product and no idea how some super products like this are not on Q or elsewhere or slip through the cracks? and others which are not so hot to many or myself are still existing? arghh
