i recently saw Maria showing a new Calista styling tool.  Does anyone know more about it and when it will become available?

Yes! I wasnt really paying attention, but I recently saw her showing a new device. I remember her saying it only had one temp, 395° was the best temp for all hair.

I just tried finding the item number for you by searching "Calista tools". Let me add my voice to those who've posted how hard it is to find items here sometimes! I found a picture of the item in question, but when I tap that picture I get another group of pictures, and I still can't find that item!

I wasn't really paying attention. I have an impression it was a flat iron, but I remember her saying the grip was the opposite of what we're used to. Assume that meant you squeeze it to open it and when you let go it automatically clamps down on your hair.

I have the Instyler with the brush and I am not head over heels in love with Calista products.  It's just okay.  For the price, it was not worth it.  Live and learn.  I should have stuck with Chi or another top brand.  So it will be wise of you to consider a top brand out here.
