New BE faux tan user and need some tips+++

I am not using the brush that comes with it (cause I just bought a small bottle at a boutique to see how it would work for me), but I am using the big bronzing brush from Ecotools.

I'm still a little streaky and my knees are picking up too much product (and I waited till the brush was almost dry before I used it there, but my knees are pretty rough and calloused).

Need some encouragement before I commit to buying the big daddy of faux tan Smiley Happy
