Today, I added a few spritzes of Rose water to Rose Hip Seed  Oil.   It did feel like the oil absorbed better and was less sticky. Tomorrow, I am going to dampen my face, then apply the oil and see how that works.

I don’t have a moisturizer that contains water and oil, but several of my hair products have both. For example, one has water and olive oil.

Re: Never heard of applying facial oils this way ...

@ Montana  I have been doing this for years.  Every morning I spray different  facial waters ( skinn etc)  in the palm of my cupped hand....then add drops of oils( again several kinds) mix them together and apply onto my skin. On top  of that I just started adding  the Skinn Oleo oil serum.   I leave this on all day, with or without makeup  depending on what my schedule is for the day( run errands or just stay home).

guessI was doing a good thing!

I always splash my face with water then add a bit of oil, it immediately turns milky.

Works well on my combo skin.  I got this tip from Dr. Drey.

Oils aren't moisturizers. You need hydration. Sealing in water with an oil makes perfect sense.

Put a few drops in palm, add a splash of water or spritz of facial mist to emulsify, then spread and massage into face.

These instructions are completely different from any face oil applications I have read before.

The product was Prickly Pear Seed Oil on Amazon.

@ MontanaHmmm that sounds like the cleansing oil method I use (we all would use). So please ask this company, it sounds quite odd to me they'd give those directions!

@ Montana  Are you talking about facial wash oil or oils in general like Marula or Argan?  I never use facial wash oil only oils for moisturizing. Cat Happy

@Katcat1  I’m talking about moisturizing/treatment oils; I don’t do oil cleansing.

I usually use camellia oil or Rose hip seed oil.

I like trying different oils. I read about the benefits of  prickly pear oil - never heard of it - and found it on Amazon. The instructions I mentioned were with one of these products.

The product and instructions are for moisturizing, not cleansing.  The product is Aradé Prickly Pear Seed Oil on Amazon.  There is no mention of cleansing
