The short answer is the bamboo green tea, new mandarine orange fig and the kids apple, kids strawberry banana and kids watermelon are rice based. Pomegranate, 613 and all the seasonal scents are soy based. Sweet almond mint, tea tree, fig, lavender and cucumber aloe are wheat based.
613, bamboo green tea, all the seasonals and the new mandarine orange fig have extra amino acids and other ingredients.
Hope you figure it out.

Guess this explains why my hair likes POM & WWC best. I also use FIG after a clarifying shampoo before I do a root touch-up.

Oh No. I would not like it if I could not use the Seasonals since they are soy based. I went to Chaz's site to get ingredient decks on the different formulas so I could look at them & see how they compare & try to figure out what's in each & why my hair likes the formulas it does. If you go to his site & click on shop now, click shop by formula, the spring honey lilac comes up first, click on see products, click on cleansing conditioner, click on the little magnifying glass with the + sign in it & you can click on see ingredients on that page. I knew he had to have the ingredients listed on his site I just had to figure out how to find them. Of course he only has the current seasonals listed on his site besides the classics.

Some of the seasonals make my hair frizzy but not all. I have the mandarin fig TSV on preorder and tempted to try the lilac honey and orange blossom. Any suggestions? I have long fine straight high lighted hair.
Currently, all of the seasonals are soy based. So, you might not have good results with any of the Spring seasonal formulas. I haven't tried the new Spring Honey Lilac, but I've both of the previous Spring formulas. For me, Spring Gardenia Green Tea is a bit more astringent and drying. The Spring Orange Blossom was creamier and more moisturizing.
My suggestion is to stick with works best for you.......lavender! Also (especially if you still have bottles of the other formulas that you didn't care for), you can always try mixing formulas together. If Cucumber Aloe too drying and Tea Tree is a bit heavy, try mixing those two to see if you can find a nice balance for your hair.

I have not tried Lavender so I don't know how it compares to any of the other formulas I have tried. SAM Makes my hair flat too. It has Emulsifying Wax which is like glue sticking my hair together. POM works best for me out of the classics I have tried. I don't know what to suggest since I have only been using just over 3 months. Maybe call Chaz's customer service & see what they think you should try.

I agree with Doxie Momma about mixing formulas together. This is definitely a good way to use the Wen formulas that you already have and may find a good combination for your hair type.
