Vaseline Lip Therapy. I was using a Shea Terra Organics lip product and was getting no results. I went back to this tried and true and am very pleased.

My son was deployed to Afghanistan last year. Chapped lips and heat rash were his primary complaints. Sent him every kind of lip balm made. What he found to work in this order: Neosporin lip balm, Chapstick night time, Vaseline. The rest he donated to the rest of his unit.

He used Chapstick when out on mission, the other two when at base camp.

BTW Goldbond powder won hands down for rashes and chaffing.

Dr. Hauschka makes the most NATURAL product so no worries about chemical sensitivity. It comes in tube & small pot. Whole Foods and elsewhere. It's a bit more expensive but stays on all night (when i need it most) and no worries about mineral oil or petroleum by-products which actually make things worse --- so I've read. It's very pleasant to use & no stickiness.

P.S. I also have another LONG lasting overnight staying power lip product I found on Amazon. It's in the $10-$15 range for .5oz. It comes in a tube and just using it overnight I've had at least 3 months' use maybe more. One dot covers lips. I bought it after reading reviews ""the ONLY lip product you'll ever need!"". It's made by Q Body - Intense Lip Therapy Balm. Also can find at www.qtica.com. most of the ingredients are good (1st is lanolin). 5* in my list of MUST HAVES. You should also gently exfoliate lips as mentioned above. I have to disagree with recommendations for products containing mineral oil and/or petroleum like Vaseline. Please research these ingredients for health effects. Josie Maran gives a big No-No on these as well and she's right! Her Argan Oil won't last but I've not tried her lip products yet. I tried her Infinity Cream on lips overnight but also didn't last -- for me anyway.

That Hauschka lip balm is the BEST I've ever used. It is somewhat pricey but wow, it smells divine and it works better than anything because it doesn't have mineral oil or petrolatum. It does last a long time, so I sorta justify the cost by knowing it works better than anything else. If you get winter dryness or dry from meds or allergies, it is a LIFESAVER! My lips crack at night if I don't use it.

I have no idea why it's not included here with the other Dr. H. stuff.

VERY good suggestion. If you like natural beauty products, it's one of the best.

Good old CARMEX. My husband turned me on to it when I had a bout of very chapped lips. Seriously, they were healed overnight!

Shea Terra Argan Oil or Carmex works for me.

Most of the other so-called lip balms soothe, but don't heal.
