My skin seems to eat foundation, too, but I do layer a lot of stuff on that might contribute to it -- a couple of serums, moisturizer, sunscreen THEN the foundation.
ETA: Okay, it's called Skindinavia and here's the link:

BUT when I was looking for this, I saw some reviews of others he says are great. One is The Present by Philosophy which he's cautious about recommending because it contains lavender oil which can cause photosensitivity. Well, he's HEARD it can, doesn't know for sure.
You can Google Wayne Goss You Tube makeup primer (or some variation thereof). :0
ETA again: The Skindinavia doesn't have silicones, I think it said
Skindinavia is having a 20% off sale on spray primers and finishing spray!!! code 20free there are two kinds, oil absorbing and regular. They also have a set you can buy. The 8oz set is $60 with the coupon it is $48 with free shipping! GREAT DEAL!
Thanks, tigriss! I'm debating between that and the 4 oz sizes -- $50, $40 with the coupon. Although, for 8 bucks more I won't run the risk of being p*ssed at myself if I end up loving it and wishing I would have gotten twice as much. Just talked myself into it.
Have you tried either of these?

Hi Aidan, looks like you don't need any more suggestions, but I wanted to share that I also had a hard time with makeup slipping off my face. My skin can be difficult, dry in winter, oily in summer, but no matter what season or what I used, nothing worked. I used Dior Airflash and it was great for a few months, then the staying power decreased. Then I went on to airbrushing (temptu), MUFE, Urban Decay, YSL, Philosophy, BE...you name it, I've probably tried it.
Anyway, it never occurred to me that I might need to exfoliate more. So a few months ago I started daily exfoliation, and peels 2-3 times a week (depending on the type of peel). And I have to tell you, my makeup stays put now!!! I've added a primer (hourglass), and the Urban Decay all nighter, but there have been a few days where I missed one or the other and my makeup won't budge - no reapplying! I actually forgot my makeup bag at home one day and started to panic - I might have to run out and buy something to touch up with...never happened!
Anyway, if you don't exfoliate, maybe you should give it a go. Otherwise, the primer and finishing spary I mentioned does a great job.
Oh...I forgot to mention, I even mix Josie Maran Argan oil in with my foundation now (for a dewy look) and it still stays all day.
Good luck!

That's one of the ones Wayne Goss raves about.
ETA: Above, I called it The Present, but Prime Time makes more sense.
Think I got it wrong.

I think NYX has a similar one now, too.

You can use the setting spray before AND after you apply the makeup for even better hold.
I agree that maybe a setting spray, misted on over your foundation, will better suit what you are hoping to accomplish. They can be very effective at preventing the weather from destroying your foundation and just seem to add that level of protection that helps foundations and other color cosmetics last through-out the day or night.
I know many swear by Urban Decay's All Nighter - I have read mixed reviews on NYX's spray primer as some don't feel it works nearly as well as UD's spray does.
I've heard of makeup artists lightly misting a face with hairspray.

This time of the year I personally think Model in a Bottle is the best when its hummid, your foundation stays in place & you don't feel its on. They also have it for sensitive skin. I have never heard of a makeup artist using a mist of hairspray. But many do use MIAB.
I like Mac Fix plus when I use a mineral foundation, not that it keeps it set as well as the other I mentioned but it does make mineral foundation look so much more natural and helps it from setting into fine lines. JMO
