Need Your Thoughts ... Accutance for Acne

I am looking for some input/guidance from people who have used accutance for themselves or family members.

My teenage son developed really bad acne. He is shy to start with and the acne seems to have done him in.

The acne is constant but when he has a flare up it is terrible. He has had teachers, classmates and strangers ask about his face.

We started seeing a dermatologist months ago. We have tried many things with some improvement but the acne never really goes away. He is currently on antibiotics and the flare ups are not as bad but the acne is still there.

DS desperately wants to try accutane. At our last appt the dermatologist said he was open to it if the antibiotics do not work.

The doctor said we would need a 6 month course of accutane with montly testing and doctor visits. the doctore believes that at the end of 6 months DS should be acne free for life.

If you have experience using accutane I would love to hear your feedback.
