Hello everyone....I am hoping to get the best recommendations for supplements to take to strength my nailbeds. The biggest issue for me is that my nails crack up in the nailbed on the sides...I can't cut my nails shorter to avoid this as it is up in the nailbed (still attached to my skin underneath) hope I am explaining this clearly. I have ridges also...and my nails look overall like they are "flakey" peeling like.
I have tried doing the natural route with buffing and that doesn't work for me....it cures or fixing nothing but makes my nails look abit more better. They still do all the same nasty stuff I described. I have tried top nail hardners....and while they are fine they don't "fix" what's going on with my nails and NOTHING stops them from cracking up in the nailbeds.
That alone is so uncomfortable and "snags" on everything OUCH! unti it finally grow out and then it happens all over again...and it's more then one nail doing it. I never had it so bad as this yr...it seems like they are drying up so badly. Presenlty I wear nothing on them and keep them trimmed very short...trying to grow out the really awful peeling and tears.
What supplements or products have you tried that actually worked?
Just a note....I tried taking 5000mcg's of biotin and it broke out my skin some and worst of all it made me have to go to pee like a diruetric effect....thought it was in my head so had my husband take them to and (I didn't tell him my reaction) he complained right away of the peeing constantly thing and refused to take them ever again LOL.
I take vitd3....3000-4000iu's daily....vitb12 2500mcg's about 3x per week....am on thyroid medication for hypo....everything is perfect balanced there....I take Armour.
Just need some ideas badly....thanks so much for your help!
