Need Help With Scalp Issue

In the last 2 months I've had my roots colored by a stylist and have noticed small scabes on my scalp and when I touch my head it hurts. This has never happened before and I'm wondering if it's the strength of the color or if she's getting too much on my scalp. To say the least I am very upset and am tempted to call my derm for an appt. Any help would be appreciated.
