Hi All,
I'm really dreading heading into winter. All summer long, my skin is super oily and makeup just melts off my face. Then come winter and inevitably I get the dry patches, and my favorite foundations (Bare Minerals Bare Pro, various Wet n Wild, and various powder foundations) all of a sudden look terrible because they cling to the dry skin and just look awful. I've had good luck with Boots No 7 foundations in winter not accentuating the dry skin, but the coverage and staying power is not enough. Can anyone recommend a nice winter-time foundation with good coverage and staying power that won't cling to my dry patches?
Thanks in advance!

Are you using a primer? I started using the Malley primer in the summer and found that it was all I needed for the summer. Now, I am using that with a light foundation and it seems to be working.

Sorry, the light foudation I am using with the Malley primer is Almay.

I really like Elizabeth Arden lift and firm ceremide foundation. Nice coverage and staying power plus it has an spf of 15. I have a fair to light complection, and the vanilla shell is perfect.
So many other foundations are too orange on me....this one has a pink undertone...very light. I have some dry patches occasionally and this foundation does not cling to them.

@dal23 I recently purchased Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Hydra foundation. 24 hr. makeup that is oil free, resistant to sweat, water, weather changes. #5658585 @ Nordstrom.
I like it very much. I wanted a foundation that was resistant to sweat/water. It comes in a tube and you don't need a lot for good coverage. A lot of shades to choose from.

I have had good luck with Bobbi Brown foundation. I have fair skin that is very sensitive and allergies. It works for me.

As usual I recommend Bobbi Brown foundation....particularly the foundation stick. It's handy, portable, buildable coverage, too many shades to mention and looks like a second skin.
In winter, my skin gets dry as well. This stick foundation is emollient enough for winter and not oily so I can wear it in summer. For extra coverage and moisture, you can wear it over BB Tinted Moisturizer.

I really love joise maran vibrancy foundation, I just dot a small amount on cheeks, chin and forehead, use a makeup brush to blend. Her surreal cream is a good primer, sometimes I use Beccas primers. Also her chubby concealer pencils are great. Sometimes all I need is her chubby concealer pencil and a little blush.

@Shanus I was curious about the foundation stick...went to the website and looked. Oh la la. So many choices. I'm kind of overwhelmed. I sent the link to my sister for help with selecting a shade. I had a Lancome foundation stick that I adored, but they seemed to have changed the formula. Thank You for your post.

@Misplaced Parisian If you'd like an ideal match, try to get to a BB counter. If foundation is "off", nothing else will come together. 🌺
